Butterfly Blue Pea — Nature’s Magical Blossom

RM25.00 MYR

At Hawa’s Artisan Kitchen, our Butterfly Blue Pea flowers are planted, harvested and naturally dried in Borneo, reflecting our hands-on approach to cultivating wholesome, regenerative ingredients.

Also known as Asian Pigeonwings or Darwin Pea, this climbing vine is native to equatorial Asia, including Borneo. Its striking deep cobalt-blue petals with soft yellow and white accents have long been cherished in the culinary world as a natural food colouring and health-boosting flower.

In Malaysia, Butterfly Blue Pea is traditionally used to tint Nasi Kerabu, glutinous rice, and classic Nyonya desserts — or to create the enchanting colour-changing teas and lemonades that turn from blue to purple with a squeeze of lemon. At HAK, we also use our Blue Pea Powder to give our Nasi Ulam Lunch its signature hue and earthy floral touch.

Beyond its visual beauty, Butterfly Blue Pea is rich in antioxidants and known for its potential benefits — from boosting immunity and supporting cognitive health to promoting natural weight balance.

Every purchase of our Butterfly Blue Pea flowers and powder directly supports reforestation at Bukit Piton, helping restore the orangutan’s habitat and strengthen Sabah’s forest ecosystems.
